  23. You can now beam datebooks directly between Palm devices.  See the Database Options dialog.

  25. Assistant supports multiple datebooks.  This works by exporting your datebook from Assistant, hotsyncing to get the data into your backup folder, then install on the target Palms.
  26. Each user must enter a unique (amongst your swap group) name; the database will be exported with this name.  It is automatically flagged for backup.
  27. After hotsync, find the new database in your Palm backup subdirectory (e.g. C:\PALM\GARY\BACKUP\GARY.PDB) and give this to everyone else to hotsync onto their Palms.
  28. Use the <SDB> command (assigned to something in Command Options) to toggle through the databases.  The name of each foreign database is shown as the application title.

  31. A note on repeating events.

  34. The Palm datebook format is very flexible.  There is a slight 'strangeness' to it, though.
  35. If you set up a repeating event (say monthly from 1st January 1999) and then later change that event (say you change 1st March 1999) and tell it to update all, it will only update from the later date on.
  36. This means it puts an end date on the original and creates a new entry with the later date as its start.  In no way does it link the two.
  37. Assistant doesn't check for 'same text and repeat' entries, so in this situation you will get the next of the original group _and_ the next of the new group.
